Our Learning System
Learning to apply digital transformation skills

Learning as part of a Flow movement

Flow in the human mind occurs when negative constraints are resolved and turbulence vanishes. Flow within an enterprise occurs when the people inside it experience a state of High Performance instead of chaos - doing the right things right - while feeling so relaxed it doesn't feel like an extraordinary effort at all. Flow gives the feeling of being able to achieve even more, without the pressure of needing to do so. An enterprise in Flow experiences High Performance as a healthy, sustainable state, rather than a forced effort causing burnout and depletion of energy and resilience. This creates the space to focus on positive things instead: strengthening social connections; exploring, experimenting and innovating; learning and reflecting.

  • Part 2

    Learning is a continuous cycle

There is no better way to learn than by going through cycles of learning based on your own curiosity and drive, while struggling to understand the theories, frameworks and methodologies available. The learning is in the struggle itself, as this translates into practical experience and a much richer and deeper understanding than just internalising the theories can ever produce. The next cycle is when you put that learned experience into practice with others within your own sphere of influence. Working together not just deepens your collective understanding and expertise, it helps to build up the confidence to enter the next cycle up: extending the reach of your learning and expertise beyond your immediate sphere of influence, including the whole enterprise and its wider ecosystem. This may not sound too difficult.

In reality, achieving these cycles of learning and applying what is learned in practice is very hard to do. Too often, enterprise learning stays limited to people absorbing theoretical and abstract knowledge (i.e. unlived and untested in their own reality), for the sole purpose of gaining certification and diplomas to prop up and accelerate careers. People that excel at rote learning and passing exams often rise through the ranks much faster than people that learn through practice and experience, even though the former have little to no discernable impact on the performance and collective learning of the enterprise. This can lead to the paradoxical situation of an enterprise full of highly educated people collectively acting without wisdom or insight and failing to learn anything from what is going on around them.

What really matters are curiosity, motivation and discipline, continually deepened and refined as they are being put into practice. This type of learning involves the whole human, not just our rational minds. To really learn and grow from experience and turn it into knowledge and wisdom requires awareness of our mental, emotional and physical interactions with our surroundings, and of the way those surroundings influence our focus, energy and well-being. This is even harder to achieve in our modern society, with its constant pressure, distractions and high-speed interactions. We may have amplified and multiplied the information available to each of us, but the stress and distraction this information comes with makes it actually harder to learn anything from it.

Learning, real, practical, experienced learning, is essential to keep up with our evolving world and stay relevant in it. It is also a basic human need. We are born with an innate capacity and yearning to learn. If we cannot learn, we feel unfulfilled and disempowered. An enterprise that does not encourage and enable its people to learn, as individuals and collectively, is robbing itself of one of its most valuable sources of innovation, adaptation and transformation.

    Our Learning System

Our learning system is designed to focus on aligning Flow of the human mind with Flow in the production system of the enterprise. We enable and support learning cycles for all members in the enterprise to create a high performing organisation as a whole. We base our offerings on our extensive knowledge and experience in making production systems within the enterprise delivering new and updated products with support of digital assets. This while constantly optimising performance to reach a state of Flow within the enterprise. The core of Flow is within us people, which is why we combine our technical knowledge with in-depth knowledge and understanding of people's psychological, physical functioning and well-being. The diagram below illustrates the learning system as a whole, this includes different learning cycles and spaces each dedicated to serve a purpose for our participants.

    Introduction Space

The first space that you will encounter is our Introduction Space. This space is designed to provide you with the opportunity to become acquainted with our learning mentors, the purpose of each space, to absorb introductory content concerning our learning philosophy, system, cycles and modules.

    Open Space

After the Introduction Space, you will move to the Open Space. In this space, participants will be exposed to inspirational content, preparatory knowledge, and fundamentals. While being in the Open Space you will have various contact moments with other participants during their learning cycles. These are called purposeful gatherings, which are meeting points whereby, under guidance, you will practise together during live online sessions.

    Safe Space

To ensure that you are comfortable and progressing in your learning journey, we provide a Safe Space. In this space meetings can be scheduled on request for you to discuss personal matters which will be protected by the means of a non-disclosure agreement to comply with at the beginning of your onboarding process.

    Mentoring Space

In the Mentoring Space learning mentors are available for you throughout your learning journey should you need any form of guidance in your learning progress. Meetings with mentors are on request and come at an hourly rate.

    Enterprise Space

When you reach a point to apply newly gained insights and experiences on the job, a practitioner program will become available for you within the This program takes 2 years whereby you will be working towards a goal that needs to be set and realised by the enterprise you work for. This program is to be paid by the employers of participants.

    Learning Philosophy

We believe that learning is an ongoing process for everyone. Not only is there always more to learn, old knowledge loses its value over time and needs to be refreshed or replaced by new knowledge, just to keep up with the way the world evolves. But there are many different things to learn and many different ways in which to learn them. Apart from different people having different learning styles, no two people follow exactly the same route during their time within an organisation. They start with different backgrounds and experiences; they start with different roles and career paths; they encounter different challenges and successes. Which is why we have designed our learning system to facilitate and support your individual learning, rather than pushing you through a standardised program. We offer a range of modularised learning cycles, based on a broad classification of interests and focus.

As a participant, you are free to decide what cycle you want to consume and how long you want to take to do so. Not all that is available can be accessed directly by everyone. There are certain minimum requirements attached to many of the more advanced learning modules. You will have the freedom to test your knowledge and experience to see if they qualify to participate in those advanced modules without being obliged to work your way through the more general modules our learning system offers. We also offer plenty of optional modules, as well as opportunities to practice and experiment with techniques, frameworks and approaches in detail and even in a personalised format with a learning mentor to ensure the best possible personal outcome. In this way, our learning system is truly an open, explorative and virtually unlimited learning environment, catering for the simply curious as well as to the deeply committed learners.

Our learning system is interactive and participatory. Participants are not just there to learn, they can be there to help others learn as well. You will be able to partner up with your fellow learners to work on learning modules together. You can discuss content with each other and collaborate on cases and examples. And you can become mentors and even contributors to the learning content the system provides. We see this as part of your own learning journey: by sharing your learning experiences with others, as a practitioner you will deepen your own understanding and mastery of what you’ve learned. Mentoring others is a great way to vicariously experience situations and challenges otherwise out of reach, and use this to hone your own skills and expertise, whilst helping others do the same.

We also invite experts in many fields to contribute in the form of learning content, modules and mentoring. Our aim is to make our learning system a living, evolving and growing ecosystem, that brings together the whole depth and richness collectively gathered and refined by the learning community we support.

    Learning Cycles

Our learning system consists of 8 learning cycles that contain multiple modules along with additional modules that support creating flow within the enterprise. Both cycles support the needs of participants with different backgrounds who are willing to contribute to increasing performance of the production system of the enterprise. These cycles are put together in a manner whereby you take on increasing challenges, so that you are able to perform as realistically as possible.

Pricing

Per learning cycle we offer knowledgeable and explanatory content, learning cycles and learning modules including online workshops, and exercises. Seeing as learning is an extensive process, we have developed a learning system with the aim of continuous learning for you. We intend to be an open learning system for individuals around the world by delivering a combination of free and paid learning content. This means that when participants begin taking on challenging material, they will be asked to make a bigger financial investment. When participants enter Fundamental Learning, we encourage them to reach out to their employer to see if they are willing to invest in their development and in the enterprise. This then paves their way to also enrol in the Practitioner Program, which benefits both the participant and their work environment. Continuous learning within our learning system comes at an average cost of € 1.000 to € 1.500 per year.
